Kent Machine (KM) was selected by a Warsaw, IN medical industry customer to create the Nail Hole Location Gauge product shown below. KM's superior mechanical design, component sourcing, fabrication, and assembly capabilities allowed the creation of a solution that fully satisfied the requirements of the customer. A hole/slot inspection gauge design was utilized, modified to follow customer defined specifications. The design was validated through comprehensive functional testing and inspection. The entire project from concept to delivery was completed in only 10 weeks.
Kent Machine's advanced capabilities and ability to deliver innovative designs ensured that this customer received a reliable, precise gauge system that would ...
Kent Machine (KM) was selected by a Collierville, TN firm to create the male thread gauge outlined below. Customer-provided specifications and CAD drawings were used as a foundation for supplemental mechanical design, followed by a component sourcing phase. Tool steel was selected because it offers the surface harness necessary for this gauge application. The product application required high-accuracy machining; Kent Machine utilized their advanced machining capabilities which included precision turning, milling, and grinding, to achieve the required ±0.008 mm tolerances.
The part was then heat treated to impart a 58 to 62 Rockwell hardness, which is critical to the thread gauges long term accuracy. Subsequent assembly and ...
Kent Machine (KM) was contracted by a major Warsaw, IN-based medical industry firm in order to tap into the engineering talent and experience KM offers. KM participated in the design and fabrication of the Trauma Plate Gauge shown here. The process began with customer-provided specification and CAD files. Additional mechanical design and component sourcing resulted in selection of 6061-T6 aluminum and 4140 steel as the primary materials. Precision machining was utilized for fabrication, with tolerances of ±0.001". A LeBlond Makino CNC Mill, coupled with a Moore #3 Jig Grinder performed the primary fabrication steps. Subsequent assembly, heat treatment, and final inspection of geometry and function followed. The product delivered was ...
